Govt Mule at Pinewood Bowl in Lincoln, Nebraska on August 16th, 2026.

It’s not very often you get two of the best guitarists on the same stage on the same night. But on August 16th, that is exactly what happened at the Pinewood Bowl in Lincoln, Nebraska. Govt Mule was up first with guitarist/vocalist Warren Haynes. He has a long musical history, most notable as a guitarist with the Allman Brothers.
He also has been a mainstay on the touring circuit with his band Govt Mule for several years now. Warren has gained a legendary status with his playing. I have been able to see Govt Mule twice now, and each time he takes the stage as cool as a cucumber. He has a very quiet confidence, no flashy entrance, just a man with his guitar and his band. He has quite the following as this was a co-headlining tour with another guitar great, Joe Bonamassa. I’d say the crowd was up and ready for Govt Mule.
It was an eclectic set list covering many albums throughout the bands career and a few covers thrown in. One cover was an Elton John song, Madman Across the Water. An obvious highlight was when Joe Bonamassa came out and joined in for a song. That really got the crowd up and going. The song is an Allman Brother’s band song, Statesboro Blues. It was awesome to watch them both on stage at the same time. They have different styles but they meshed very well.
The set closer was another Allman Brother’s song, and probably not a surprise to many, Soulshine. Such a great song and a perfect way to end the set. It was a fun show, especially if you love the guitar. There are way worse ways to spend an evening. Getting to see two legends on stage and see them actually play together is worth the price of admission alone. I’d give this tour two big thumbs up and recommend you don’t miss it!
